Our story with Domino began in the later weeks of October 2022. I had been begging my husband to consider getting a 3rd dog for a couple of weeks at this point, and would regularly check the Humane Society of Utah’s website to see all their adorable pups! When I saw Domino’s profile I fell IN LOVE! The initial decision was, that even though we both wanted him, now wouldn’t have been the best time, as we were living in a small 1 bed apartment.
That’s when fate decided to step in. Pictures/videos/posts about Domino kept popping up EVERY TIME I would open any of my social media apps.
This led us to reconsider adoption, and eventually we both agreed to pursue adopting our sweet little pittie! That’s when fate decided to step in. Pictures/videos/posts about Domino kept popping up EVERY TIME I would open any of my social media apps. This led us to reconsider adoption, and eventually we both agreed to pursue adopting our sweet little pittie! The only problem was we actually didn’t live nearby, we were 4 hours away in a tiny town, in Nevada. Since the shelter does adoptions on a “first come, first serve” basis this meant that we had to plan our trip a little more strategically. We ended up leaving our home at about 5:30am and arrived at HSU like 30 minutes after they had opened (around 9:30am). We got to meet Domino, and the rest is history!
Our Lives Have Been Enriched
In the 2 years of owning Domino our lives have been enriched tremendously! I have a built-in bodyguard, we are constantly entertained by his goofy personality and rambunctious shenanigans, our other dog, Millie, has a forever Best Friend, and our house is no longer quiet (in all the best ways)! Don’t let his 3 legs fool you, this boy does not let it slow him down one bit!
Domino has brought so much loyalty, laughs, and love into our family, it’s hard to imagine what life would’ve been like if we hadn’t taken the chance to bring him into our lives.
